The Alaskan ULU Knife was first crafted over 5,000 years ago by Native Alaskan residents. Today people everywhere use the knife for slicing meats, dicing vegetables and a lot more≥ The knife's rocking motion makes it extremely easy to use. With the center of gravity concentrated over the center of the blade it creates twice the downward force compared to conventional cutlery. When cleaning it use a downward motion with soapy water to avoid the sharp cutting edge, rinse thoroughly and towel dry. DO NOT SOAK IN WATER. The blade is constructed from 440c stainless steel. The handle it machine worked from exotic Olivewood from Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. It has been hand finished with a durable multi-layer food safe finish to give it a satin smooth feel, and protect for years. The stand is hard Red Oak and is included with the purchase. The handle is approx. 5"L x 1.5"H x 5/8" thick; the blade is 5.25"L x 2.5"H. The stand is 6"L x 1.5"H x 1"thick.
